Dr. Charmaine Samuda, DSW, LCSW
Owner and Psychotherapist
I am the founder of Best Practice Psychotherapy and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker here in Connecticut.
With more than 20 years of clinical experience, I have worked across schools, hospitals, and intensive outpatient settings. My background allows me to support clients with both warmth and clinical depth, particularly when navigating emotional stress, life changes, or more layered personal and family challenges.
Over the years, I have supported clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, family stress, relationship concerns, identity development, and major life transitions. I understand that many people begin therapy after carrying things privately for a long time. My goal is to help clients feel less alone while developing greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and practical tools for moving forward.
As the owner of Best Practice Psychotherapy, I am also deeply committed to thoughtful client matching, ethical care, and creating a clinical environment where clients and clinicians can do meaningful work together.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy interior design, learning about different cultures, and creating spaces that feel calm, intentional, and welcoming.
